History
SERVIPLAST was set up with the aim of transforming, recovering and reusing plastic waste from post-industrial and post-consumer flexible packaging, by developing and producing a recycled polyethylene product in pellet format, with unique characteristics in the domestic market, first and foremost because it incorporates a very low level of impurities that will allow the film and flexible plastic packaging production industry to increase the rate of incorporation of recycled polyethylene.
The production of this recycled and innovative product will increase the value of the entire plastic production chain, helping to achieve the European Union's objectives, particularly with regard to the reintegration of waste into the production cycle as raw materials, promoting innovation through the efficient and sustainable use of resources.
The production process will consist of an initial shredding of the plastic waste, followed by a section for washing, separating and compressing contaminating waste to ensure its total removal. The waste will then go through a thermal and mechanical drying unit, with the aim of separating the heavy and hard particles (metals or rigid plastics). Finally, clean polyethylene in pellet form will be obtained through extrusion.
It should be noted that the entire production line is innovative compared to conventional national lines, namely because it requires less energy and water and guarantees a higher degree of cleanliness, making it possible to produce polyethylene with a lower level of impurities and with the desired quality to meet the demands of the purchasing industries.
